That time I almost did something exciting

They say not to post a blog everyday... So I hope my few days absense has created some sort of longing in my 'readers' ;)

In the past days I have done an obscene amount of back to school shopping, reconnected with an old friend, and ALMOST sky dived !

6:30am wake up
7:30am departure
9:40am arrive in Niagara
9:42am told the weather is NOT jump OK
9:45am disappointment and relief
11:00am breakfast

So in short the 'low clouds' we're really a buzz kill! But we have rescheduled and a plane will be jumped out of later in September ! Boom!

Here is a peak at what my jumping outfit was looking like:

I call it 'sporty-casual'.

Note: Current favorite "cheagle shirt"

Get ready for a plethora of back to school blogs coming up as I move to Hamilton tomorrow !!! #unrealexcited

Peace kids !

P.s. Currently writing this from my phone as we drive home from Niagara

Thrift Shoppin'

HOLLA!

Going to try to make this post short and sweet.
Concise and clever.
Accurate and adorable

... and all other alphabet words that go together that could potentially describe a short blog....you get my point.

Lets start with the fact that as of Tuesday I have been done work. #freedom.
Which means my Wednesday was a filled with unreal productiveness, mixed with unbelievable laziness. Great combination if you ask me!

I am most excited about 4 things today:
  1. PLATOS FREAKIN' CLOSET
  2. Dads Birthday <3
  3. Last day of Booty Camp!
  4. ALS Ice Bucket Challange
**Side note: They taught us in some of our Education Courses in con-ed to always give an outline of the lesson, or day, or in this case blog, because it puts students at ease to know whats ahead. Tell me if you love it, hate it, or are completely indifferent to it. Additionally, it helps me to stay organized haha... short blog.. right**

As I was saying, I went to Plato's Closet today. For those of you who don't know what that it, its a thrift store where people can go to sell their gently used clothes. Different from Value Village and Goodwill, because they're crazy picky about what they buy and what they sell. All hip, youthful brands, which look unused, for about 1/8th of the original price! BARGAIN SHOPPING KIDS!

Going back to school is expensive, so why not catch a break when you can ; )After about an hour of shopping and 18 articles of clothes, I came out a happy camper!

FOREVER XI Sweater - 6$

 AEROPOSTALE Jean Jacket - 12$

LONDON Khakis - 8$

All that, plus 20% off using my points card and BAM Left the store with three wicked pieces for 22$

These excellent purchases set the day off well to celebrate Daddio's birthday with the fam... and film our #ALSicebucketchallange. (DON'T FORGET TO DONATE PLEASE)

My apologies, I get quite lisp-y on tape.... actually I might be like that all the time and maybe I have just never noticed.... yikes.

Regardless! I think this turned out to be a moderately short blog. I'm making this work people!! Woohooo!!

UPDATE!
As of September 1st, each month that I continue to blog will have a general theme around it. That doesn't mean that every day I will strictly write about one thing, but it will give me a bit more focus until I figure out how I want to run this. Once again, I am unbelievably appreciative to those of you who are reading this and giving helpful suggestions and kind feedback. When you think its time, feel free to share my blog or specific posts with friends and family who might enjoy it!

I'll leave you now with an interesting Macklemore cover. Quite hip and happening.

Peace Brutha,

All in a days work

Boy oh boy!

It is definitely hard to keep track of day-to-day events when you know you want to write about them later.

Lets sum up my past 24 hours before I begin to write shall we...

Last Night

  • Got nominated for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
  • Went to Booty Camp at the park
  • Got EATEN ALIVE by mosquitoes
  • Became a blogging fanatic
Today
  • Had my last day of work for the summer
  • Got SPOILED by some of the wonderful people I work with!
  • Experienced a mad dash to finish everything by the end of the day
  • Went home and sweat my entire face off
  • Participated in a Candle Lit Memorial at our Church
  • Went to the mall and reminisced with a wonderfully old friend of mine
  • Also shamelessly promoted this blog to everyone I know... my bad
Okay that's about it. Thanks for reading. Goodnight.

KIDDING!

There are a few things I'd like to expand on here...

To start, Booty Camp seriously kicked my booty last night! (I guess the name rings true)
We did a load of cardio drills and the moved on to this HELLA long circuit including running up a hill three times, triceps dips, walking lunges, jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups, jump squats, regular squats, pulses, and burpees ! Best part is... our trainer TIMED IT and made us do it THREE TIMES!.... super.

My legs were jelly by the end of it. Also tons of mosquitos.

YUCK.

Today was a smidge on the better side.

I happend to wake up and go into work with my mom today (My mom, my sister and I all work at the same company). She is a HUGE fan of 105.7 Niagara EZ Rock and every day reminds me to call in for RICKS RAPID FIRE.  The game show is basically 60 seconds, 10 questions, 20$ a question or 1000$ if you get them all right.

Some how, I managed to be caller 10 today... and somehow I won 100$ before 7:15 am this morning! Thank you Rick Hodge and Laurie Love!

The rest of my work day was followed by 6 hours of making packages to send to our rep's, but lucky for me I got to work with some of the BEST people in the office! (Shout outs to Sam, Bethany (B-Town), and Mel!) This was topped off with a copious amounts of sweet treats from everyone including CAKE, CUPCAKES, CAKE POPS and TIMBITS!!!! Great people I tell ya!

Some of the girls from work <3

Despite the AMAZING gifts from everyone, the day ended on a bit of a rocky note. VERY hectic. VERY messy. VERY 'yelly' to say the least. We powered through and after 9 hours of being at the office I got to go home on my very last drive with my sister!

When I got home my mom encouraged me to go to a candle light memorial. You light a candle for those who have passed away. It was really nice, until I decided to start silently bawling after lighting my candle.

You always think you're strong until the moment that you break.

After a well needed re-coup I met up with my GBF (Greek Best Friend), Paulina, and headed to the mall to do some last minute Dads-Birthday-Gift-Shopping. Can't talk about that much because he reads this blog Haha!

Just a quick side note: I got a free 10$ Lipgloss out of our mall adventure... SCORE!

I'll let you know if this meets up to Lip Gloss expectations.

I think I've said MORE than enough about my day. I assure you that I am working towards some form or organization for this blog. Bare with me until then PLEASE :)

I'll leave you off with some quick irony.

Much Love,

25 August 2014

...and so it begins!

Here it is everyone.. my first OFFICIAL blog post!!

I'm not entirely sure who 'everyone' is, or who 'everyone' will be... for now this blog is for me, and those of you who stumble upon it (or who I force to read it... Thanks Dad ;P)

Lets begin with some introductions shall we.

My name is Ashley and I am 22 years old. I am going into my fifth year of Concurrent Education at Brock University, which happens to be Teachers College for those of you who don't know. I've been shipped off to the Hamilton Campus after spending four glorious years in St. Catharines. I'm making the best of it because I don't see the good in being negative about something I cant change. Ja feel?

According to Google Images, this is what my new Campus looks like.
Not to shabby!

I think I chose to make this a public blog rather than a private blog because I genuinely feel I have something to share with the world, and what better way to share it than through social media!

Ideally I'll have millions of people looking forward to my blog on a daily basis, they'll call me the new Perez... but not actually. Honestly, I'd be content knowing that even one person was getting something from this (thanks again Dad!)

In terms of what to expect in my writing, I plan to write a lot about Teachers College, OOTD, traveling, fitness, product reviews and just my life in general, which I hope you'll find some sort of interest in.

This is a new project for me and I am hoping I can keep it up! I feel committed right now and although writing to 'no one' seems weird, I have a feeling this will come more naturally as I continue to write... here's hoping, right?

If you've made it this far into my post than I THANK YOU! I can assure you my life gets pretty wild and it will be worth the read ;)

I'll end this off with the song that's been in my head ALL DAY!  #myanacondadont

Thanks again er'body!
