June BuJu

Not quite as effective as N*sync preparing for May... but Soulja Boi is a throw back, so ill let it slide.

Hello everyone! (Still just my mom? HI MAMA!)

June starts tomorrow and that means its time for a newwwwwww BULLET JOURNAL SPREAD!

weeooo!

The ending of May has been unbelievably hot here  in South Western Ontario. I have NO complaints, considering we had an 8 month winter. I am fine sweating to death. Honestly, I am.

For this months BuJu I waited for @amandarachlee to post her monthly 'plan with me' video. I was patient  for once!

Her spread this month was a travel theme and it looked FAB! Unfortunately my artistic skills were not going to cut it, in addition to the fact that I have minimal travel plans for June and that would have bummed me out.

So I did a little pinterest-ing, and a little youtube-ing and between the two, I managed to come up with a spread that worked for me.

*~*~TROPICAL~*~*

Amanadarachlee used this theme in March 2017 and I loved it!
Here is the link in case you also love it :)

So I started off with this video to plan my cover page, monthly view, habit tracker and goals.

For anyone with working eyes, you can see that mine is no carbon copy, but I feel like I did a decent enough job :)

On the left I have my June title page, surrounded by palm leaves.
On the right we have a different set up for a monthly overview. I cut this into two halves so I can separate things like birthdays and holidays, from work activities and special events.

Next page is the habit tracker and monthly goals list.

I did the habit tracker horizontally, but miscounted by square and am now only in a position to have good habits until aprx June 20th as Ive run out of space.... awkward.

Next I moved on to pinterest to find a simple yet satisfying way to lay out my weeklies.

This is possibly the most simplistic weekly set up I could have done. I chose this because now that I am employed until the end of June, I have no need to separate  my weekly into 'life' and 'employment'.

Well there you have it folks! Another month down in the BuJu archives.

Hope you're having a magnificent Thursday :)

Ashley

All the worlds a stage...

GUESS WHO GOT AN LTO!!!!!

File:This-guy.jpg

For those of you not in touch with the teaching lingo of 2018, a LTO is a Long Term Occasional teaching position. This is when teachers require a supply teacher for more than 10 consecutive school days. Eg. Maternity leave, sickness, surgery, personal leave, etc etc.

AND I GOT ONE!

Here is how the story goes...

Imagine me sitting at the desk of an empty geography classroom in South Kitchener. I log onto my computer during my prep and I take a gander at the jobs available within my board for the next week.... fa la la la....I take a casual search of job postings..maybe a nearby school board is opening, maybe there is an opportunity for volunteer.. who is to know!

Fast forward about 20 minutes of awkward searching and sidetracked googling and BAM I see a posting for 2 periods of Dramatic Arts a few towns away.

I hmm and haaa about whether I should apply. "What a waste of time.. writing ANOTHER cover letter for a job not even in my board." Then I said F*^&@ IT and wrote my cover letter and was on my way to teaching my next supply class.

FAST FORWARD to 3 days later... a Friday if you will. I am sitting on the couch as it was a PA day for my board, and I get a call from an unknown number.
"Hello?" I say. "May I speak to Ashley please" "Speaking..." and then they offer me a freakin interview at the school for this drama LTO!

WAHOO! AN INTERVIEW!

I ask when and then things get awkward... I have supply work on Monday at the time they want to interview me... do I cancel my supply? do I cancel the interview? WHAT ARE MY ETHIC RESPONSIBILITIES!

I take the interview.

The weekend comes and goes and Monday shows up out of nowhere! Am I even ready for an interview!? I haven't done Drama in AGES, I'm a Geography person now! AHH!

Breathe Ash, breathe.

Lets speed this up..
-Walk into the school
-Get lost
-Find office
-Wait

-Principals office
-Get tangled taking off purse... make awkward jokes
-Answer questions
-Hesitate
-Answer questions
-INSTANTLY have to pee
-Done

Literally, in and out of the school in 30 minutes.

WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!

Such a quick interview, they probably hated me.. it must have been the purse.. UGH!

I drive back to another school I had agreed to supply for that afternoon. I go about my business and sit down while the school finishes their lunch...I get a call.

WHAT THE MOTHER EFF! THEY'RE OFFERING ME THE JOB I INTERVIEWED FOR LESS THAN 3 HOURS AGO!

I must be a total boss. It has nothing to do with the lack of Drama qualified teachers in the area... Great job Ash :)

So that was a Monday, I started teaching on WEDNESDAY!

Fast forward one last time to today 05/24.. Ive been here just about 3 weeks and LOVING IT!

Reignited my love of teaching Drama and I have gotten so so so lucky with the students I have and the colleagues I get to work with (one being a Brock Grad! weeooo!).

I am just overall really pleased with the opportunities I have been dealt since coming home from the UK in August. I thought I'd be at Tim Horton's waiting and waiting to become a teacher and get back into the classroom. Things don't always work out as you expect.

PACE,
Ashley :)

Rambles and my May BuJu

Starting off May in the best way!

Welcome back to my blog guys!! I don't know how many (if any) are reading this, but even if its just my mom (HI MOM) that's fine with me.

I decided to get back into blogging a few weeks ago because I found that I was.. well I would'nt say bored...but I was missing something. I think that 'something' was putting the many conversations I have in my head - onto paper... or err... internet paper... ?

Doesn't matter!

I've come up with a few topics I want to hit when blogging, again I have no idea if people will find them at all interesting, but FUGIT, you cant make everyone happy.

ANYWAYS!

Guys, I have a bullet journal!
For those of you who know me, you'll know that I have -376472% artistic talent. Not kidding. I cant even draw a straight line without a ruler.

I starter this BuJu (that's how hip cool people call it), back in August because I had just come home from England and needed a calendar/list/notebook/reminders that hit all my needs because I was ALL OVA THE PLACE.

BOOM: ENTER BULLET JOURNAL

I started it off with about 6000 pins on pinterest trying to get ideas of what to include, where to include it, and how to make it look decent. Through a lot of trial and error I've begun to find certain aspects that match my needs personally, and others that change month to month, or just go unused.

I normally follow a Youtuber named @Amandarachlee who does FANTASTIC work. This month I got impatient and went rogue though.

So without further adue... my May Bullet Journal.

Step 1: Blank Page

Step 2: Template it out! Ft.Vista Print custom sticky notes

Step 3: Habit tracker

Every month is a chance for new habits to form and old habits to break. This month I'm going to try to work on my overall well being. A bit of book, a bit of skin care, and a bit of savings.

Step 5: Goals for May plus some room to add as the month goes on

Step 6: Month at a glace
Step 7: One week at a time.
I have separated my BuJu weekly spread into two sections: life and work.

So there we have it folks! My first blog back.. a little shaky.. a little random.. a bit useless... but I am pleased!

Keep it classy friends and fam!

Love,
Schindel
